The NHS are running virtual work experience on 6 June 2021, for allied health careers such as:

- Nursing
- Midwifery
- Paramedicine
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Dietetics
- Radiography
- Prosthetics and orthotics
- Speech and language therapy
- Osteopathy
- Pharmacy
- Podiatry

"During the work experience day, students will follow 2 patients from their initial presentation to recovery. Students will observe the healthcare professionals as they interact with the patients and and also each other. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions and gain knowledge through teaching. This will help students to make an informed career decision as well as learn about how healthcare professionals work together as part of a multidisciplinary team. Each work experience day is completely different and students will be able to build on their knowledge of NHS careers as they see different patient cases and their healthcare professionals work in a variety of settings, such as hospital and community."

Can all pupils involved in this years Girls Rugby Team please be aware that due to a Monday holiday this coming week we will training instead on Wednesday (05/05/2021) from 3:45 - 4:45 on the Knox pitches. This is a one off change and as per usual please bring weather appropriate clothing and a water bottle.

Girls rugby training will resume on Monday 26/04/2021 at 3:45. This will be taking place on the playing fields directly at the back of the school building. Please ensure you bring a water bottle and weather appropriate sports kit. Training will last approximately 1 hour and as always new players are more than welcome.

The successful applicant will need to be willing to have a hands on approach and be happy to not only work in the office but to assist in the yard and sometimes take a vehicle out to make deliveries. The ideal candidate will need to meet the following criteria :

 

A full clean driving license.

Computer skills.

A good telephone manner.

Be able to work unsupervised.

Ideally the applicant with some construction/timber knowledge would be an advantage but not critical as training will be given.

Edinburgh College's Creative Industries faculty are hosting an information session on Friday 30 April 2021, 1pm-5pm, for anyone interested in studying a creative course with them.
