All S1-4 pupils attending the theatre trip to the Lyceum to see Arabian Nights next Wednesday 6th December, please check your name on the pupil list outside the Drama Studio. All those who have ordered an ice cream or lolly will receive this in the interval on the day.

Pupils performing in the 2017 Christmas Concert will be able to book priority tickets from Monday the 27th November. Each performer is welcome to book two tickets for family members before the 8th of December, after which remaining tickets will be on sale to everyone. The School Magazine is hosting a quiz night to raise money for our Christmas Issue on Monday 4 December at 6.30pm.

Knox Volleyball Club starts on Monday in the Games Hall 4.10pm – 5.15pm. The club is being run by pupils for pupils (with a little support of Mr Wands) and is for Everyone interested in playing at All levels. Staff member interested in playing is also welcome! We look forward to seeing you on Monday!

The Eco-Committee would like to say a big THANK YOU to the Knox community for the generous clothing, food, and toiletries donations! We have had an overwhelmingly positive response to this collection and it has been great to see Knox band together for a great cause! We collected a total of 94 kilos of donations! That's the equivalent weight of 94 bags of sugar or 94 1 liter Lucozade bottles - in other words, it's a lot! Thanks to everyone for making this collection a success! We couldn't have done it without you!

The day was an overwhelming success and we were so proud of our S4-S6 Pupil Coaches that ran the activities:- These were made up of the CSLA class, SKY Sports Leaders, Sports Council and Extra-Curricular Coaches.
A special mention must go to S3 pupil Adam Aitchison who helped run Boxing and did so with purpose, pride and with a smile on his face - good coaching!!

This Friday, 17 November, is Children in Need. Throughout the day there will be a variety of events to raise money. S1-S5 will participate in a dress down day. S6 will be dressing up as well as running a bake sale at break. Alongside these events there will be the chance to pie the head pupils and Mr Flood at break. Medical Receptionist Apprentice
Microcom Training are looking for an apprentice Medical Receptionist for a practice in Prestonpans.
They are looking for someone aged 16-19. Minimum National 5 or equivalent in English and Maths with a preferred associated subject (business & administration, computing).
The successful candidate will work towards a Business and Administration level 3 as a Doctor Surgery Receptionist.
The hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and the annual salary is £12,800 which is in excess of the national minimum apprentice wage.

Basketball Training for S1-S6 Girls and Boys Basketball is on Thursdays after-school in the games hall from 4.00-5.30pm.

Last Wednesday Knox Academy Girls SOR had their first rugby development match against Leith Vixens at Haddington Rugby Club. For many Knox girls this was their first venture in to full contact rugby and there were a few nerves! Leith were playing their 8th competitive match so it was al;ways going to be a struggle for the Knox girls. The match was played in great spirits with both teams playing open rugby and putting on a great display for the supporters who had braved the cold winter night. Leith came away worthy winners but the Knox girls can be extremely proud of their performance with some great displays and some big hits! The girls head coach L.Borwick was very impressed with the effort the girls put in she and the girls are looking forward to their next match.

Congratulations to everyone that represented Knox Hockey against Boroughmuir this weekend. While the results did not go our way this time – All teams were competitive and the games could have gone either way. Its great to see all teams improving weeke on week. Thanks to wonderfull Coaches, Parents and Players for their commitment to Haddington Hockey.
I was delighted to receive a lovely comment from the Boroughmuir coach that mentioned that our players had played the game in a great spirit and were a credit to the school! Nice job team Knox!

The Eco-Committee's collection for Rock Trust is off to a great start! We have received clothing, food, and toiletries from students and staff alike! Knox Sport - Get Active Day All S1 & S2 pupils will take part in this year’s Knox Sport – Get Active Day next Friday 17th Nov. Mr Moncrieff in Science is running a trip to the National Musuem of Scotland to a renewable energy event. It is on Monday 20th November. This event is free, however it will require a letter home.
If you are interested in attending this, can you please let your science teacher know by the end of Thursday, or speak to Mr Moncrieff.
Due to demand, and limited places, to be fair there will only be a small number of students from each class randomly selected, depending on interest.
