All pupils are in the department for 1 period per week for the full year.

We offer a combined course where all the pupils complete two individual projects. These projects offer students an opportunity to develop skills in Design & Manufacture and Graphic Communication. In addition, students are introduced to Practical Woodwork.

The projects are:

• manufacturing a wooden trinket box and producing a variety of accompanying manual and computer produced graphics,
• a project focusing on the design of innovative outdoor furniture for social areas. Students will also develop accurate modelling skills.

The department runs an Enterprise Event where all S2 pupils are given the chance to complete a team project designing a Land Yacht.
